The story of Coyote Gulch.

I can't believe I'm actually posting something. I've always scoffed at bloggers.....what's the appeal of writing ones thoughts so that strangers and even those that know you will read it. Isn't it supposed to be "private". This is why I'm calling my blog "Coyote Gulch". No one that knows me in my circle of friends and work would even know who I am. There's only one person who would even recognize the name as being symbolic of something. Coyote Gulch is the area in Southern Utah in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area that is tucked away to most people unless they read BackPacker magazine. It is where my ex and I went on a solo backpacking trip. It was the most amazing place ever and probably the best vacation I've ever been on and will probably ever go on. It doesn't mean I haven't been anywhere since then. I've gone to some neat places since then...but not quite as "Raw" as it was there. We carrried everything we needed on our backs, did laundry in the streams when there was water and ate trail mix throughout the day. It was scary at times..but peaceful at times. We walked, explored and walked some more. I remember my ex dropping down into one of the holes in the canyon to take a "shower". He had a bandana to wash, dry and cover himself up with. Anyways....that's the story of Coyote Gulch. It is very memorable and is one of the experiences I'll never forget. I am forever thankful that he introduced me to the outdoors since I never would have had it not been for him. He's in the military and is trained for survival. I recall him trying to teach me many things about survival "just in case" I was ever stranded or somewhere where I would need to know how to take care of myself. Anyways...in a nutshell..that's the story of Coyote Gulch. On that note, I'll have to close...or I'll get sad.
